The Portes Du Soleil is the place for mountain biking in the French Alps. The area offers over 650 kilometres of marked routes; from easy winding tracks along the river and through the forests, to steep and very technically demanding single tracks. 24 of the ski lifts are open and specially adapted to carry you and your mountain bike. For downhill bikers there are 10 permanent downhill courses and 4 bike parks that are all accessible from Morzine and Les Gets.
The first lifts in Morzine and Les Gets open for weekends 1st & 2nd June, 8th & 9th June and fully on the 15th June. All 24 lifts open for the last weekend of June; linking the Portes Du Soleil resorts of Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Chatel, Champery, and Morgins. The main lifts in Morzine and Les Gets continue to run until 8th September.
Downhill / XC / Freeride - Beginners, intermediates and advanced
Whether down hill or road biking, the Portes du Soleil offers a huge area over 500 miles that is accessible during the summer months. With stunning views, 26 bike carrying chairlifts and cable cars and world cup downhill runs as well as fantastic road routes, the area is ideal for any biking enthusiasts.
As one of the top locations in the world for cross country, free-ride and down hill mountain biking; there are endless trails to suit all abilities; from steep and technical down hill tracks to gentle cross country trails.
The resort has played host to many world class bike events and also boasts the largest area of bike trails and the biggest network of ski lifts open to bikers in Europe. As well as being a bit of a 'mecca' for down hill bikers with several man made down hill courses featuring berms, banks, tunnels and jumps, this resort also appeals to the Cross Country bikers with more than a staggering 1000 kms of bike trails, consisting of Fire Roads and single track riding.
CRANKWORX Les Gets - June14th to 18th 2017
Heading back to France for its sixth year, Crankworx Les Gets stakes a claim for mountain biking in France, the global centre of all things biking. This is where the aeronautic tricksters and unflinching speed demons will converge each June to session the verdant alpine slopes of the Alps. Les Gets is a pioneer for this sport. It was among the first in Europe to offer lift-accessed mountain biking, and is integral to the early days of downhill racing with four UCI World Cups and the 2004 World Championship to its name. Nestled on the French-Swiss border, and part of the 12-resort Porte du Soleil mountain-riding circuit, this is ground zero for Europe’s gravity obsessed.

Pass'Portes Du Soleil - 28th, 29th, 30th June 2017
The MTB Pass'Portes du Soleil is a mountain bike ride ranging from 1000 to 2250m in altitude, in both France and Switzerland, where you can discover the fabulous Portes du Soleil MTB terrain and its grandiose scenery. The 80 km circuit uses 15th lifts. Different variations will be organised for mountain bikers wishing to cycle up hill. The trek takes one day, and participants can choose whether to ride it on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
